Overview of Field Study 3
Field Study 3 is a one-unit experiential learning course that focuses on the technology in the learning environment. It provides the students opportunity to observe, engage, synthesize and reflect on practical experiences on the teaching learning process.
This book seeks to guide the Field Study instructors and Field Study students to go about the different learning episodes focused on the different concepts and practices on the use of technology in the learning environment such as the learning resource center, instructional aids bank and ICT instructional materials and their utilization.
Each learning episode has four parts, namely;
- Objectives (the target/s to be met)
- Instructions (the steps to be followed)
- Learning Tasks (the activities to be performed guided by the boxes, matrices or tables)
- Impression/Over-all Remarks (brief comments, explanations or other observations while conducting the concerned learning episode)
The last learning episode deals on writing a reflection paper. This gives the students the opportunity to synthesize their field study experiences, to elaborate on the insights gained, and to relate the importance of these insights to their total development as future teachers.
The learning episodes are designed to allow students to verify previously acquired theoretical knowledge, to clarify values needed in the teaching profession, and to express impressions or remarks based on verified information, not mere opinions.
Finally, this guidebook includes preliminary parts and appendices which are useful to both instructors and students. In brief, this guidebook is a complete and comprehensive resource in Field Study 3 – Technology in the Learning Environment that comes in a handy package.
